2. What this notice covers
This notice applies when you visit feemanagement.co.uk, submit an enquiry, communicate with FMC, receive or enquire about our services, or otherwise deal with us as a client, prospective client, supplier, professional contact, payer or representative of an organisation.
Where FMC processes personal information only on behalf of a client, that client’s own privacy notice may also apply. This
website is intended for business and professional users and is not directed at children.
3. Personal information we may collect
• Identity and contact information, including names, job titles, organisations, postal addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers.
• Professional and business information, including chambers, firm, counsel, solicitor, client, payer, case-reference and practice-area information.
• Fee and payment information, including billing dates, amounts billed, receipts, outstanding balances, payment history, action notes and correspondence.
• Service and enquiry information, including the support requested, communications, complaints, feedback and agreed instructions.
• Technical and usage information, including IP address, browser, device, pages visited, cookie choices and website analytics.
• Publicly available information from sources such as Companies House, professional directories and regulatory registers.
• Where genuinely necessary for client work, limited special-category or criminal-offence information contained within case records. FMC seeks to minimise this information and processes it only where an appropriate legal condition and client instruction apply.
4. How we obtain personal information
We may obtain information directly from you; from the chambers, law firm, barrister, solicitor or other organisation engaging us; from their systems and reports; from payers and professional representatives; through this website and its forms; from service providers; or from lawful public sources.
5. How and why we use personal information
We use personal information only where we have a lawful basis. Depending on the circumstances, this may be necessary to perform or prepare for a contract, comply with a legal obligation, pursue legitimate business interests, or act on consent.
• To respond to enquiries and discuss services - legitimate interests and, where steps are taken at an individual’s request, contract.
• To provide fee clerking, financial-health reporting, management information, systems oversight and related services - contract, legitimate interests and, where FMC acts as processor, the client’s documented instructions.
• To manage accounts, invoicing, payments, client relationships, service quality, complaints and business records - contract, legitimate interests and legal obligations.
• To protect systems, prevent misuse and maintain website and information security - legitimate interests and legal obligations.
• To improve our website, reporting and services using aggregated usage information and analytics - legitimate interests; non-essential cookies are used in accordance with your cookie choices.
• To send relevant business communications or marketing where permitted - legitimate interests or consent, as applicable. You can opt out at any time.
• To establish, exercise or defend legal rights and respond to regulators or law-enforcement bodies - legal obligations and legitimate interests.
6. Financial-solutions enquiries and LawyerClientConnect
Separate organisations and responsibilities
FMC may review the circumstances of an FMC client, identify a payment issue and help determine whether a payment solution may be appropriate. FMC does not make lending decisions and no finance application is made merely by contacting FMC.
Where you ask to discuss Interim Payments, Client Fee Finance or another financial solution, and you agree to the introduction, FMC may share the contact and enquiry information needed for LawyerClientConnect to contact you. Fee Release Limited trading as LawyerClientConnect will then act as a separate data controller and its own privacy notice will apply.
LawyerClientConnect is a trading name of Fee Release Limited. Fee Release Limited is an Appointed Representative of The Compliance Guys Ltd, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under FRN 941360. Fee Release Limited’s Appointed Representative FRN is 1043998. LawyerClientConnect is a credit broker, not a lender.
We will not pass an FMC website finance enquiry to LawyerClientConnect on the basis of a pre-ticked box. Where consent is relied upon, it may be withdrawn before the information is shared by contacting FMC.
7. Who we may share information with
We may share personal information, where necessary and proportionate, with:
• the FMC client that instructed us and authorised users within that organisation;
• barristers, chambers, law firms, solicitors, payers and professional representatives involved in the relevant fee-management process;
• LawyerClientConnect, but only where an appropriate financial-solutions introduction has been requested and permitted;
• website, cloud-hosting, email, IT-security, analytics and other service providers acting under contract;
• accountants, auditors, insurers, legal advisers and other professional advisers;
• regulators, courts, law-enforcement authorities or public bodies where disclosure is required or permitted by law; and
• a purchaser, investor or successor in connection with a genuine business reorganisation, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards.
We do not sell personal information.
8. International transfers
Some technology or service providers may store or access information outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, we require an appropriate safeguard, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, together with appropriate security measures.
9. Security
We use appropriate organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal information from accidental loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorised access or disclosure. Access is limited to people who need it for their role and who are subject to confidentiality obligations. No internet or electronic-storage system is completely secure, but we keep our measures under review and will notify affected individuals and regulators of a personal-data breach where legally required.
10. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, contractual, accounting, insurance and reporting requirements. Retention depends on the nature of the information and our role. Client and business records are generally retained for up to six years after the relevant relationship or matter ends, unless a longer or shorter period is required. Routine unsuccessful enquiries are generally retained for up to 24 months. Marketing records are retained until consent is withdrawn or an objection is made, with minimal suppression information kept to respect that choice.
11. Cookies and website analytics
The website uses essential cookies needed for security and operation. With your permission, it may also use analytics or similar technologies, including Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used. You can manage non-essential cookies through the website cookie banner. Disabling some cookies may affect how parts of the site operate.
12. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
• be informed about how your personal information is used;
• request access to your personal information;
• request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
• request deletion of information in certain circumstances;
• request restriction of processing in certain circumstances;
• object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing;
• request transfer of information where the right to data portability applies; and
• withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise a right, contact team@feemanagement.co.uk. We may need to confirm your identity. We normally respond within one month, although the law permits additional time for complex or multiple requests. There is normally no fee, but we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse a request where permitted by law if it is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
13. Complaints
Please contact us first so that we have an opportunity to resolve any concern. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or by telephone on 0303 123 1113.
14. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice to reflect changes in our services, technology or legal obligations. The current version will be published on this website with its latest revision date.

Website Terms & Legal Information
Terms applying to the use of feemanagement.co.uk
Last updated: 20 August 2026
Important
These terms govern use of the FMC website. They do not replace a client engagement letter, service agreement, product terms or the separate terms that may apply to LawyerClientConnect or a finance provider.
1. About FMC
This website is operated by Fee Management and Consultancy Ltd, trading as FMC, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 06435032 ("FMC", "we", "us" or "our").
ICO registration reference: ZA269688.
Registered office: C/O Evans Weir, The Victoria, 25 St Pancras, Chichester, West Sussex, England PO19 7LT.
Business and correspondence address: 18th & 19th Floors, 100 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AG. Email: team@feemanagement.co.uk. Telephone: 0870 240 5990.

2. Acceptance of these terms
By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may amend these terms from time to time; the version published on the site at the time of use will apply.

3. Website information
The content of this website is provided for general business information. Although we take reasonable care to keep it accurate and current, it is not intended to amount to legal, financial, regulatory, accounting or other professional advice and should not be relied upon as such. You should obtain advice appropriate to your circumstances before acting on website content.
Examples, statistics, illustrations, timeframes and service descriptions are indicative unless expressly incorporated into a written agreement. Availability and scope may depend on systems, case volumes, client instructions, eligibility and third-party requirements.

4. FMC services and client engagements
Website content and the submission of an enquiry do not create a client relationship or oblige FMC to provide a service. Any engagement is subject to separate written terms agreed with the relevant chambers, law firm, barrister, solicitor or other client. If these website terms conflict with a signed client agreement, the signed client agreement will prevail for that service.
FMC’s services may include fee clerking, collection support, financial-health reporting, management information, case or counsel review, systems and workflow oversight, and related fee-management support. The precise scope is always determined by the written engagement.

5. Financial solutions and LawyerClientConnect
Separate finance pathway
FMC may review the circumstances, identify the payment issue and help determine which solution may be appropriate for FMC clients. FMC does not provide credit, make lending decisions or guarantee that any finance will be available.
Interim Payments, Client Fee Finance and other financial solutions referred to on this website are dealt with separately through LawyerClientConnect. No finance application is made merely by submitting an FMC enquiry form or speaking to FMC. Where appropriate and permitted, FMC may introduce an enquirer to LawyerClientConnect, which will explain the relevant process and any applicable terms.
Any finance is subject to eligibility, verification, underwriting, affordability or credit assessment where applicable, lender approval and separate terms. A reference to a payment option, percentage, timescale or potential availability is not an offer, promise or guarantee of finance. Lenders and other providers are responsible for their own decisions and product terms.

6. Enquiries and communications
You are responsible for ensuring that information supplied through this website is accurate, lawful and not misleading. Please do not submit unnecessary special-category information, criminal-offence information, privileged material, passwords or banking credentials through a general website form. If sensitive case information is required, FMC will arrange an appropriate secure method of transfer.
Email and internet communications cannot be guaranteed to be secure, uninterrupted or error-free. You should verify any change to payment details or other sensitive instruction using a known telephone number before acting.

7. Permitted use
You may use the website only for lawful purposes. You must not:
-
attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, servers, accounts or data;
-
introduce malicious code, interfere with security or disrupt availability;
-
scrape, copy or systematically extract content except as permitted by law;
-
misrepresent your identity, authority or relationship with another person or organisation; or
-
use the site or its content for unlawful, fraudulent or misleading activity.
-

8. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, FMC or its licensors own the intellectual-property rights in this website, its branding, text, graphics, reports, templates and other content. You may view and print reasonable extracts for your internal business use. You may not reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, sell or commercially exploit material without prior written permission, except where the law expressly permits.

LawyerClientConnect and any third-party names, logos or materials remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance on this website does not transfer any rights to the user.

9. Third-party websites and services
Links to third-party websites or services are provided for convenience and do not mean that FMC controls or endorses all content on those sites. Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy notices. FMC is not responsible for the availability or content of third-party sites, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Availability and security
We aim to keep the website available and secure but do not guarantee uninterrupted access or freedom from errors, malware or other harmful components. We may suspend, withdraw, restrict or change any part of the website without notice where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance or business reasons.

11. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to that, and to any liability expressly accepted under a separate written client agreement, FMC is not liable for loss arising solely from reliance on general website information; loss caused by unavailable or interrupted access; third-party websites, systems, lenders or providers; or indirect or consequential business loss. Different limitations may apply under an agreed client contract.

12. Privacy and cookies
Our Privacy Notice explains how FMC handles personal information. The website cookie controls explain which cookies are used and allow you to manage non-essential cookies. Those documents form part of the website’s legal information and should be read alongside these terms.

13. Governing law
These website terms and any non-contractual dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.

14. Contact
Questions about this website or these terms should be sent to team@feemanagement.co.uk or to FMC at 18th & 19th Floors, 100 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AG.
15. Separate service agreements
These website terms do not govern any fee-collection, fee-clerking, credit-control or other service provided by FMC under an individual client contract. Each engagement is governed by its own separately agreed written terms, including the applicable scope of work, responsibilities, charges, procedures and liability provisions. If there is any inconsistency between these website terms and an individual service agreement, the individual service agreement will take precedence in relation to that service.
